Yes, Wilhelm (William) Hugo is my g grandfather Edward's brother. William and their sister Lizzie actually helped Edward's wife and kids after his death in PA. That was before my g grandmother Tillie left with the kids to CA and severed our family from those in NE.

Elizabeth is pictured in the yearbook of the 422nd Technical School Squadron at Amarillo Army Air Field in Amarillo, Texas, and is a nurse. The 422nd produced mechanics and technicians to maintain the Flying Fortresses. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching family.

Karl Leopold Wilhelm Briese is a gg grandfather of my husband. Paul O. Briese (Albion NE) is his grandfather. Paul is the son of Wilhelm (William)Hugo Briese.

I didn't find any Joseph Briese's in the church book, but the records from 1838-1859 are missing, so it's possible he might have been there.

just found this message board.
My name is Verena Briese, I live in Düsseldorf, NRW, Germany.
My grandgrandfather Andreas Briese was born in Gross Münche Kreis Birnbaum - Posen/Poznan, today Mnichy / Międzychód in Poland.

He went to Düsseldorf later. He had a sister named Marie Anne and a brother named Anton. Marie Anne was born in Mnichy as well later lived in Morrn / Landsberg an der Warthe. About the oldest Anton we don't know where he was born, it is told that he stayed in Schwerin and that he was a postman and that he had a son named Michael. We just found his name and age in the marriage certificate.

Their parents were Josef/Joseph in polish writing Josepha Briese polish writing Bryze/Bryza. His wife were Emilie/a Lehmann. We don't know were they did come from the polish archiwum doesn't find anything in Mnichy. We just know their names. So if anyone of you finds a marriage or birth certificate with these names please tell me. The must be born arround 1850's plus/minus 10 years. the oldest child was born 1876.

I hope to find more informations about them or find new relatives :-)

Briese DNA project ?

Is anyone interested in participating in a Briese DNA project? The goal would be to see if the various Briese families share a recent common ancestor. In particular, we hope to determine if the Briese's from West Prussia are related. We have one participant with origins in Appelwerder, Kreis Deutsh Krone, West Prussia in 1852. The village was close to the present day town of Walcz, Poland. If we can get a couple more men with the Briese or similar surnames (Briesse, Breese) to sign up for the project, we should be able to start a DNA project at Family Tree DNA with discounted pricing for the y-DNA test.

He had crossed over to the Americas in 1874 with his wife and 5 children, once in the states, they had 2 more sons ( one died at an early age). I had a two week ancestry and had seen several trees but was unsure of the exact line, and navigating was hard for me.. I would be in one place and lose it and not know how to get back, I did alot of stumbling around. So I am amazed to hear from you, and so delighted. Anna Bader was married to my Grt Gnd-fthr Robert Theordore"Taddor"Briese. I have just begun a few weeks back, and am trying to gather information from my Aunt and others she knows. Oh Im so glad to hear from you!!! You will need to tell me everything you know because all I have is what I've researched on my family tree. If you havent seen it, its just the Waggoner family tree. I have all kinds of pictures but I dont know what side of the family they are from, so if you have pictures of any of these folks it would be great to compare. So did I understand you right that Otto was your grandfather, and your father is Robert Otto Briese? Tell me more :)!!!! And do you know anything about the baders? I know Annie Baders dad is Frederick and Mother is Wilemine or Minnie, and Annie is one of at least 8 kids...

I am interesting in sharing info with you amber...I am new at this searching stuff but do know that laura would be the daughter to one of my grandfather(otto Briese's) Brother..
therefore we would be shirt-tail related. (smile)...
Otto was married to a Green..'Taddor' is Robert Briese,father to Otto ,who married Anna Bader..
I hope this makes sense. Robert T was grandfather ottos father my father also Robert Otto

I am looking for information on my g-g-grandma Augusta Briese. She was born Sept. 3 1859 in Wisconsin and died June 20 1950 in Owatonna, Steele County, Minnnesota. Her parents may have been Gustav Briese and Amelia (last name not known). She married Andrew Kulzer (1855-1902). Their children were Joseph Peter, Annie, Edward Jacob, and Dewey Albert John. Any information would be helpful.

It's possible that there is more than one Konigsdorf in Prussia, but here is one: Evangelische Kirche Königsdorf (Kr. Flatow). Kirchenbuchduplikat, 1857-1874. Salt Lake City, Utah : Gefilmt durch The Genealogical Society of Utah, 1987. 1 reel of microfilm. Parish register of baptisms, marriages and deaths of Königsdorf, (Kr. Flatow), Westpreußen, Germany, now Czernice (Zlotów), Koszalin, Poland. You could check the microfilm to see if Robert is listed in the baptisms, but you might want to verify if this is the correct Konigsdorf first, if possible.

I'm researching the family of my great-grandmother, Laura Briese who was born in Lueben, Deutsch Krone in 1872. Kreis Deutsch Krone is just to the west of Kreis Flatow, and I have had good luck with the Churchbook records on microfilm in both districts. There were a lot of Briese families in this area.

Laura Wilhelmine Briese b. 23 jun 1893 in hallock, minnesota, daughter of Robert Taddor Briese b. 2 nov 1857 of konigsdorf, prussia and Anna Bader b. 1866 wisconsin.

Shes my great grand mother, and though it says she was born in minnesota my mom swears she had a german accent.

Now Anna Baders parents are Frederick or Frederich Bader b. about 1833 in germany or prussia and mother possibly wilhelmine.

and Robert Taddor Brieses parents are Daniel Briese b. jul 1826 of Posen, Germany and Elizabeth Kuhn b. 1832 of posen, germany....

I have been looking for my husbands grandmothers
family. She spelled her name LaBriese. However
I have not found this spelling to date. She
was born in 1882-84 supposedly in Fulton, IL.
It was said that her father was from France.
She looked very Prussian and I feel that she was
of Prussian or German decent if indeed her
last name was LaBriese. I think perhaps they
tried to Frenchify the name and or she did
not know her real last name. Her mother must have
died around the time of her birth or shortly there
after. When I asked my husbands mother how
Wilfred and Dorothy May LaBriese met, she said
"Why he got her from an orphanage". I would
really like to hear more from Joan (Brist) Bude.

I have be researching the Briest name for many years. I have alot of information on them. I haven't seen your spellings but it's possible there may be a connection. My gggrandfather was from Germany. His name, when he came to America
was Stephen Lee Brist. He was born in Baden,Germany in about 1823.
He came with his parents and siblings in about 1834. We have been told
Brist came from the Briest and Briese. We are all stuck at the time he
came here. We do not have any information regarding his parents or
brothers or sisters. Not even a name. We do have record that he was
in Leyden, New York for awhile after he arrived here and that his
parents did not live long after their arrival. Any help or suggestions
