Brigance Reunion 2009
We are pleased to announce a Brigance family reunion will be held May 2-3, 2009. The reunion will take place in Cottontown, Tennessee. Cottontown is located in Sumner County approx. 25 miles from downtown Nashville. All our Brigance ancestors migrated to present day Sumner Co. in the mid-1780s.
We are designing a fun and exciting program of events to include: visiting the location of the first land grant in 1784, the oldest known Brigance cemetery, and other historic locations. On Saturday, there will be a presentation on the early history of the Brigances in America from Pennsylvania, North Carolina in the Revolutionary War period, to present day Tennessee.
You are encouraged to bring photographs, bible record,letters, or other family heirlooms to share.
