Surnames: Briggs Johnson
Looking for information on the family of Silas C. Briggs, who is in the Nemeha Co. KS census in 1870, in Van Buren Co. MI in 1860, and Kalamazoo Co. MI in 1850. He was born about 1825 in NY, according to all three censuses. His daughter Laura C (Charlotte) was my great grandfather Samuel Henry Johnson's first wife. Laura was born in 1853 in MI, and died in 1872 in Nemeha Co. KS. They had one daughter, Carrie Belle Johnson, who was born in 1870 in KS.
Silas' wife was Mary, and they show another daughter on the census named Ella, who was born about 1865 in MI.
