I have located with a lot of assurance...based upon my family ledger 1831-1890 and another family ledger of Aaron Arant 1820-1851...that the parents of Zepsy Brigman was William Brigman of Anson County, NC. He is even living beside John Griffin who married on of his daughters. Using these ledger and legal documents which talk of the community in this area...this is the correct Brigman. My ancestor...John Arant married on of the Brigman girls...Margaret. It is said that he stayed with the family for a time and married one of them. So, my John Arant has many family connections. In order for him to have known Margaret Brigman. He had to have a way to live close to her and to meet her. She was nine years older than he. I have found William Brigman in Anson County, NC....this area later becomes Union county, NC. I come from this very area and grew up beside the homeplace of John Arant. Therefore, it is easy for me to know these boundary lines and those that border it. William Brigman can be find near Peter Arnett, Aarante on the census reports of Anson County, NC. You can find Job Williams and James Jones and many others on these pages of Anson County, NC. William Brigman must die after the 1840 census. He was very old in the 1840 census. Thus, this would explain why he did not serve as bondsman on the Margret Brigman's marriage to John Arant. Her bondsman was John Brigman of Union county, NC which this county was formed in 1842. Maraget and Zepsy Brigman Griffin attend church together..along with John Brigman. Zepsy Brigman married John Griffin (who appeared on the 1840 census living beside William Brigman). Zepsy named her first son...."William" Griffin. John Arant records his birth in 1831. William Griffin was his nephew.

I have requested of Raleigh, NC and SC archives for any will on Wiliam Brigman but have not been able to locate it yet. I am sure that it is there, but will take some looking.
Aaron Arant ledger which is in KY because he moved from Chesterfield County, SC to KY in 1831 mentions William Brigman in his ledger. This William Brigman was in close relations with the Arants...thus, John Arant having the opportunity to meet Margaret Brigman...a daughter.

Please contact me...anyone who would like to discuss my findings.
