BUSHNELL, FLA. – Don Brindley, 84, passed away at 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at Lourdes Hospital.
Don was born in Sandusky, Ohio on Oct. 12, 1927.
He married JoAnne Buckingham on March 5, 1947, in Sandusky, OHIO. She preceded him in death on March 22, 2002.
Don served during World War II and the Korean War in the U.S. Navy.
He worked as an executive for Sandusky Butter and Egg. He was a member of the Elks, Erie County, Ohio Conservation League in Ohio, Family Motor Coach Association and the Sangamon Valley Wood Carvers Association.
He was also an AQHA Judge and raised a number of Champion Quarter horses.
Spending the winters in Florida, he made many great billiard playing friends. He enjoyed camping, traveling, wood carving, and fishing.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Jeri (husband, Jerry) Brindley-Francis of Rochester, Illinois, Mike (wife, Kathy) Brindley of Boardman, Tim (wife, Gwen) Brindley of Prescott, Ariz., Scott (wife, JJ) Brindley of Sandusky, Ohio and Dan (wife, Sue) Brindley of Castalia; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial ceremony was held at noon on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at the Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
