I was so excited to see that you are researching the Brinkley family. My dad was James Ernest Brinkley,Jr., born in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1917. I cannot find any history on his family what-so-ever. I believed his father to be James Ernest Brinkley senior also from Tennessee. He was married to Naomi Ruth Buchanan. He died when my dad was only about 4 years old, but I cannot find a record of anything having to do with him or his marriage to my grandmother.
