Does anyone know where the extensive genealogy report might have gotten to?

I remember seeing this in about 1975 at a family reunion held at Elizabethtown College.

It was being maintained by Hannah Groff Brinser and after her death I have no idea where it might have gotten to.

It was quite extensive even then by any standards, especially when you consider we did not have the Internet then.

Hi Elizabeth, are you related to Erin Brinser? I see her posts all over the genealogy boards. She is related to Lillian M. Mead-Evans and I am wondering if you are as well?
I am Myrtle Evans-Roby's Grandson. Lillian would be my great grandmother. If you would correspond with me concerning this I would greatly appreciate it.
Brian Handy

Emma Evans who married Brinser

I have for my husbands family, Emma Evans, born March 1875, who married a Brinser. She is at the baptizm of Leo Joseph Evans, born Aug 15, 1900 to J. Anthony Evans and Elizabeth Weaver, who was baptized on March 3, 1901. His godparents were Andrew Evans and Emma Brinser.

On the 1900 census there is a James D. Brinser with wife, Emma, age 25, two children listed as Elsie born Feb 1889, age 9, and Maude born April 1891, age 9. For Emma it shows that she answered as to the question of how many children she had had, she answered 0 living, 0 born. Also listed as 0 years married. Could she and James have married that year, thus 0 years married as their answer. or were they not married at all?

Is the James C and James D Brinser, both the same person, with a coincidence of having married both women with the name of Emma. James C. married Emma Evans, and there is a James D. Brinser who married an Emma Stauffer?

Could they have been cousins? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Pat

Hello Elizabeth: I am not sure if my Emma EVANS was married to a BRINSER as I previously typed back in 2004. It just may have been a coincidence that Emma Brinser and Emma Evans lived close by to each other's family?
As an Emma Brinser was named as Godparent to my husband's Leo Joseph EVANS in 1900.
Brinser, T. in 1929 Richmond, VA yearbook

RE: The Marshallite, 1929 John Marshall High School yearbook (Richmond, VA)

Brinser, T.

This yearbook lists the members of the Senior class of 1929, faculty members, members of the Corps of Cadets, and many members of various clubs (not all). Unfortunately, it does not list the names of the members of the Junior, Sophomore or Freshmen classes (only officers listed for those classes).

I extracted all of the names (& some other information) from the yearbook & have put them on my genealogy web site (total of 13 web pages, containing over 1,900 records; sorted alphabetically by surname).

The link to the first page of these extracts on my web site is:

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/family/r...

Or it can be accessed through the "General Research" link on the main page at:

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/index.ht...

Please note that I put all kinds of genealogy information on my web site, not just data about the families I am researching. I hope the information I've put online helps someone with their research . . .

Susan :)
Sassytazzy's Online Genealogy Research Library
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/index.ht...

Correction on Emma Brinser

Rethinking what I wrote previous on Evans married to a Brinser, I jumped to a conclusion.

The St. Anthony's Church de Padua of Lancaster, Pa, sent a letter to me saying that Andrew Evans and Emma Brinser were named godparents to Leo Joseph Evans in 1900.

It just could be that Emma Brinser was a close friend and neighbor to the Evans family, thus being asked to be a god parent. Not that she was Andrew's sister, Emma Evans.

Does anyone have this Emma Brinser in their family files that I may stand corrected to her correct relationship to the Evans family of Lancaster, Pa.

Thank you

Pat
I tried to post a reply, and Rootsweb had a problem. We are very probably the same family. I have a lot of information since I first posted, and would be very happy to share. Are you Mennonite? Are you part of the Martin family too? I wondered because there is a Clyde Martin, who is part of the Brinser family through Soloman. He helped me locate a book that lists many of the family genealogys. Christian and Anna Ursala Brinser were first. Their children were John, Jacob, Abram, Mathias (my ancestor), Anna, and Catherine. Please e-mail if any of those names pop up in your family.
sammyb555@wv-cis.net
Hi. I couldn't find Behm, so I looked for Rudolph on the LDS site, and found Boehm/Behm, married to Mary, so I looked Boehm up in the book I have, and Martin Boehm of Londenberry, Lancaster County, was a Mennonite Minister with Philip Otterbein. Together, they founded The United Brethren in Christ in 1752. The Boehms and Brinsers were all living in the same area of Lancaster County from around 1740. The first Brinser was Christian and his wife Ursala. They came on the Loyal Judith in 1740, and he was naturalized in 1761. I am willing to bet that your family is from this same line. Christian was from Baden Baden, GE. If you contact Darvin Martin at dlmartin@genealogygoldmine.com, and tell him that you want a copy of A History of the United Zion Church 1853-1980, he can tell you where to get the book. That's where I got mind, and really don't remember the address. My ggg-grandmother Susan Brinser, had a sister Mary. She would have been too old to have been your relative, but she could have had a daughter or grandaughter also named Mary. The frustration with the old German names, is that they kept all the same names in the family, so they show up over and over again. If you have a birthdate, you can match them. Also, go to Latter Day Saints Family Search, enter Rudolph Behm, and in the 1880 census, you can see the whole family listed with birthdates. Let me know how you make out. Ingrid

I haven't been able to
trace back beyond either of them. As far as I can tell,
Mary is not descended from Matthias. If you have a
book to recommend that might include this info., I'd
appreciate knowing it!

Thanks.

Hi. my great great grandmother was Fannie Brinser Martin. She had four daughters; Myra and Buelah, who never married and Elsie and my grandmother Stella. Elsie had a daughter named Esther.I think she married a Detweiler, but I need to check a little to be sure. I will get back if its a match. I know that she lived in Hawaii and was married there to someone in the service. The family was from Middletown, and are all buried there.
Ingrid
sammyb555@wv-cis.net

I am searching for information on an Elizabeth BRINZER from the Lancaster area of Pennsylvania. She was born in or around 1863. She married George DAVISH. They appear in the 1910 census in Philadelphia with 5 children: James, Lillian, George, John and Lloyd. I would like to find out who her parents/siblings were and where they came from.

Check http://maley.net/transcription/ and
lookup Brinser Sketches. These Brinsers may
be your Line. They settled in the portion of
Lancaster County which later became Dauphin
County, specifically Londonderry Township.
