My name is Andre Briones and i live in San Diego, CA
i am 20 years old and i'm looking for long lost family members

i know i have a half brother named RENE BRIONES. we share the same father also named RENE BRIONES.

our father is from San Jose, Costa Rica and he moved to California and married a woman (whose name i dont know) and fathered my brother. after the divorce he married my mother and divorced in 1991 or 1992.

I am almost positive he has more than 2 children out in the world because of his promiscuous nature.

My grandfather is from Nicargua, he married my grandmother (from costa rica) and he later divorced and left back to nicargua and has not been heard of since)

I do have family i can contact in costa rica BUT due to certain circumstances it is not in my best interest to get in touch with them at this point and time.

My father (and possibly his siblings) had kids in different areas of California and maybe we're related perhaps? His name is Rene Briones (he was a secretive person so he might have gone by other names before meeting my mother) and was born in Costa Rica but moved to California where i know he spent time in LA and San Diego.

Hi,

I am a descendant of Marcos Briones, son of Ygnacio Vicente Briones from San Luis Potosi mission.

I have Vicente's birth as 1727 or 1736. Monterey, Ca 1790 census has him as a mulatto.

His first wife was Mario Antonio de Padron also from San Luis, and mother of Marcos.

His second wife was an Indio, Mariana b 1746 married 9/27/1784 at San Carlos de Monterey mission.

I have Marcos Joseph born 1760 or 1757 at San Luis Potosi
married to Maria Isadora Tapia 9/27/1784 at Mission San Carlos Borromeo. Maros is in San Jose 1841 and died in 1842 in San Francisco.

I have some information on Maria's ancestry too.

Can you confirm?
Do you have any other information about Vicente's or Maria's parents, life, or ancestry.

When did Marocs & Vicente come to california?

My uncle was a Briones also who worked in the mines and had black lung. So many of these men who worked in mines contracted this disease. My uncle lived to be in his 90s and died of Parkinson's Disease.

Hello, I am looking for any information on my Grandfather Natividad Briones. I don't know too much about the family I do know that he died in 1929. He was a miner and from what my father (Luis R Briones) has told me his father became ill from working in the mines. I have the name of my grandfathers brother which is Cleofus Valerio, but I do not know of any other relatives including the names of his parents. Any help would be appreciated.

My name is Stacy Hammond, my grandmother (paternal) was Agnes Amelia Kingsbury, also decended from Vincente Briones, her mother's name was Miller. I have some family history and photos as well. I believe Pablo Briones was also related to us, the nephew of the celebrated Juana Briones. I am no expert geneologist, but have inherited some facts and records and was very excited to see the Kingsbury name linked with Briones, for surely we must be related! My last name is Briones. We are from California. My father was born in 1936 in El Paso, Texas. My grandfather was Francisco Briones born in 1910 Chihuahua, Mexico. My great grandfather was born in 1881-1944 in Mexico and died in El Paso,Texas. We have great-great grandfather born in Zacatecas, MExico named Nemesio Briones. My Great Grandfather was Manuel Briones from Piedras Negra Coahulia. He was born between 1883- 1888. Married Concepcion Rodrigues from New Mexico and settled in Arizona. They had 10 children, Domingo, Mary, Lilly, Bessie, Pete,Molly, Polly, Harry, Lucy, Manuel and adopted Vicky. Harry ( Gerardo ) is my Mother Pamela's father. What are your relatives names?

My mother's sister married into the BRIONES family from San Luis Potosi, MX.
I would greatly appreciate information on this family, its roots and interconnections with other BRIONES branches of the main tree.

What I know is as follows:

Sisto Briones (2 known sons: Teodosio C. and Juan Castillo)
Juan (John) Castillo Briones
---(b. 20 Oct 1906, Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, MX;
d.13 Aug 1998, Trinidad, Las Animas County, Colorado)

John C. Briones married Eva Marie Valdez (my mother's sister) abt 1929 in Trinidad, CO. Both my Uncle John and Aunt Eva are now deceased. They have these children: John Manuel, Richard James, Margaret Dolores Briones Chavez, and Rober Patrick.

My Uncle John Briones worked in the coal mines in the Trinidad area for 50 years. He started work in the mine on 5 Jul 1922, at age 15 years and 9 mos.
His brother, Teodosio Briones, was born in 1890 in MX and died 30 Sep 1924 in Thermopolis, Wyoming, from a rock fall in a mine. Teodosio is burined in the Catholic Cemetery in Trinidad, CO, as is my Uncle John Briones.

I know that this BRIONES family had relatives in California, who came to Trinidad to visit the family there.

The San Luis Potosi connection is what caught my attention regarding your California BRIONES family. If not too much trouble, would you be agreeable to sharing your California BRIONES family line with me, using my direct contact available here on this Briones Forum, if you wish to do this directly rather than on the Forum. Since your Briones family and my mom's sister's husband both come from San Luis Potosi, it is very likely that there is a connection, even though we may not recognize it right off.
