I mess around with research on the Brisbin family every now and then. My family is traceable back to Robert Brisbin of Platsburg NY. None of us have seemed to get past him because his parents seem unidentifiable. It appears that 1) his father may have died and while he kept the family name, his mother remarried and we have a name change and a death we are not aware of. 2) He left home and became an apprintice in some other home and what few things we have about him don't include any family reference. I suspect that the second is true and that he grew up in the home of Phoby Call's parents as an apprintice to them and later married Phoby. Or he may have even indentured to them though the practice had pretty well died out by them.
