I just found out that Joseph and Marguerite (Tauret)Brisebois are my gr-gr-gr-grandparents. I am looking for any and all information on them. Their son Isreal born 1823 married Teresa Peltier and they lived in Bay City, Mi. Joseph and Marguerite lived in Mt. Clemons, Mi. If you have any additional information on this family, please let me know.

The info that I have was that Pierre Lajoie was born 18 April 1827 L'Assomption Quebec, his parents were Jean Louis Mercier-Lajoie b. about 1800 Quebec, and Julie Bourque born about the same time, same place. Edwidge was born 2 November 1872. One of the siblings must have named a daughter Edwidge. Do you need the info for Edesse Emelie Carre?

I believe Pierre Lajoie was born in April 1826 in Quebec. There are a ton of Lajoie in Quebec. They were there for a long time (some folks trace it back to the 1700's).

In addition to Damase & Edwidge, I know there was a sister named Julie too. She married someone with the last name of Pinsonneault.

Damase was born in 1869. Was Edwidge much younger than Damase? I came across a girl's name in , I believe, the 1901 census and the girl was about 10. Just wondering if it's the same girl.

Seraphin Brisebois married 9 Jan 1887 St-Remi to Martine St.Pierre d/o Isidore Breyer-St.Pierre and Martine Paradis.
He was previously married to Adele Quesnel.

Area of search would be St. Colomban.

On the Argenteuil Marriage CD (thank you David for providing this information, much appreciated!!!) it listed their son, Philibert...married M. Angele St. Pierre (cousin?) with additional names listed of Isidore and Hermeline Gratton (or Cratton, it's hard to tell). I'm not sure if that's just witnesses or if that's her parents or the people who raised her or what the connection was, but that's the names listed next to hers.

Marriage dated 13 May 1918.

Martine St. Pierre b. 14 Sept 1862 d. 6 Aug 1945

Known children: Joseph Osias Brisebois b. 15 Aug 1896 d. 1948

Séraphin's side of the family doesn't pop up on the 1881 Canadian Census. If anyone has any information about my GGparents (particularly on Séraphin's side), I would greately appreciate it.

Residence is most likely to be Quebec...Martine died in St. Colomban, PQ, Canada.

I have information about Jolive dit Lepine. My uncle, Gilles Edouard Lepine was born March 5 th 1914 in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Quebec, Canada and died July 9 th 1991 in Ocean County, New Jersey. I remember him talking about his family, his father Alfred, his mother Ceclie (Belair) Lepine and infant brother, Rosaire all died in the Spanish influenza epidemic of 1918-19. I had two great uncles who were hockey players and both played for the Le Canadien de Montreal around 1925-26. Are you related to them? If so, you and I are related. Team photo attached. Pierre " Pit"Lepine and his brother Hector "Hec" Lepine also from Ste Anne de Bellevue.

Where does the name "Jolivet"come in and what is the relationship to Lepine. What does "dit" signify?

Can you tell me more about these ancestors and where they came from? I live in Fort Lauderdale, FL

I am looking for FREDERICK BRISEBOIS ancestors,
FREDERICK was born abt 1816 in PQ. Canada an died on april 11 1873 , was maried to JOSEPHTE BRISEBOIS daughter of JACQUES BRISEBOIS and MARIE JOSEPHTE LANDREMAN. His father should be JOSEPH maried to MARGUERITE MELOCHE, so I do not know anything about that JOSEPH and I would like some info please.

I am looking for Joseph Brisebois, he had a son named Moise born around 1940 in or around Ferme-Neuve P.Q Canada, Moise maried twice, first with Marie Louise Cholette on august 24 1891 and than with Célina Mantha on august 27 1900. I would like to have all info ont theese family, since one of his son Arthur was my uncle.

Am seeking info on Moises (Brisebois) Martin born August 15, 1837 to Toussaint Martin and Phoebe Derome of Montreal, Quebec. Moises moved with his wife Marie Pilotte (married January 27, 1863 in St. Jacques, le Mineur, Quebec) to Kent County, Ontario where they raised their family. Trying to authenticate Moises (Brisebois) Martin parents names, location, death's and their parents.

Frederic Brisebois married Marie-Josephe Brisebois June 22, 1835 in Ste-Genevieve-de-Pierrefonds,Ile-de-Montreal,Quebec,Canada.

Frederic's parents were Joseph Brisebois and Marguerite Meloche who were married October 2, 1809 in Ste-Genevieve-de-Pierrefonds.

Joseph Brisebois was born and baptised February 18, 1788 at Pointe-Claire,Ile-de-Montreal,Quebec,Canada. His parents were Amable Brisebois [Jacques Brisebois and Marie-Josephe Legaut] and Marie-Catherine Payment [Pierre Payment and Marie-Catherine Ste-Foy]. They were married January 10, 1774 at Ste-Genevieve-de-Pierrefonds.

Marie-Marguerite Meloche was born and baptised November 20, 1788 in Ste-Genevieve-de-Pierrefonds. Her parents were Joseph-Marie Meloche [Francois Meloche and Marie-Josephe Brunet] and Marie-Josephe Moncion [Jean-Baptiste Moncion and Louise Rapideau]. They were married some time before 1775 in Ste-Genevieve-de-Pierrefonds.

Joseph Brisebois and wife Marguerite Taurel came to Michigan in early 1800's. Their grandson Abraham dropped the "e". Abraham's parents Joseph and Marie Bouchard could neither read nor write.
