COLUMBIA BASIN HERALD, MOSES LAKE, WASHINGTON STATE

Our loving mother and grandmother, Thora Brittain passed away May 7, 2008, due to complications from cancer.

She faced cancer and death with the same strong will and determination that she faced life with. She always had a ready smile and kind word for anyone, family or friend, even for a stranger that wondered who that nice, well-dressed lady in the hat was. She was born to Albert and Mary Marshall June 6, 1918, in Archer, Idaho. She married Ross Brittain June 29, 1936, in Irwin, Idaho and they moved to MOSES Lake in 1957. She resided the last year of her life with her son Bryan and her loving daughter-in-law, Stacey. Stacey's loving care of Mom in her last days will always be remembered and treasured by the rest of the family. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, shopping and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her six children and their spouses Don and Karen Brittain, Ann Wayman, Betty Martin, Bryan and Stacey Brittain, Stan and Brenda Brittain and Chuck and Jerri Cleis, plus many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ross, her parents, six brothers and sisters, and many nephews and nieces. She will be loved and missed by all that truly knew her
