Obituary:
The Elizabethtown Post, NY, Thursday, March 31, 1910
Newcomb Heading:
Adelbert Brittell, son of Guy Brittell of this place, died suddenly while alone on the morning of the 25th instant. Mr. Brittell, Sr. went to Newcomb village, a distance of about two miles, leaving his son at the breakfast table seemingly as well as he had been for some time, and upon his return found him lying upon the bed dead. An autopsy was performed by Dr. J. J. Owen, assisted by Dr. Summerville of North Creek, and the cause of death discovered to be an affection of the heart. Deceased was about forty years of age and had been in poor health for years. The funeral services were held in the M. E. Church Sunday p.m., March 27th, Rev. Jaspar L. VanAvery officiating, and the body was interred near Mr. Brittell’s residence. Much sympathy is felt for the aged father who is left in his house alone.
