I am searching for family that would be descendants of Mary Brittin. Mary was age 50 in the 1910 census.Estimate year of birth 1859. She was the wife of Josph P. Brittin. Mary's parents were born in Germany Joseph and Mary had 4 children. At the time of this census they lived on Pine Road. Positioned on the sheet between 2 sections for Elberon Ave, 8 years later Mary was the informant for a death certificate for William Lee Dittus in 1918.
In 1942 a Mary Brittin who resided at 8122 Elberon Ave was the informant for a death certificate for Rebecca Dittus Rittenhouse (Willam's older sister) This perhaps might be a granddaughter to the first Mary who would have been 84 at the time of Rebeeca's death and it would seem that there would have been others who could have filled that role.
The Brittins are said to have been cousins to the Dittus and Scanlan families that were raised in the Blake Ave Rockledge Montgomery County PA & Pine Road Foxchase Philadelphia County PA areas. I am hoping to connect with some family members who might validate my hopes that Mary might be sister to William and Rebecca Dittus.
What I know about that family at this point is there were 9 children Charles Agustus, Mary, Rebecca, William Lee, George Ely, John, Harry E, Ida,and Emma. The parents of this group were Charles and Emeline Dittus. Please email me at BRES144@aol.com
