I know this was posted years ago, so this may be old hat to you. Samuel Frantz Brittz or Britts had two wives. Elizabeth died from tuberculosis leaving him at age 38 with 5 young children. He then married 15 year old Mary Campbell who gave him two children. Samuel was active in the Confederate elections, and later served as magistrate of New Castle. He was a deacib of the Christian Church.

Susan,
I'm also researching the Britts Family. However I'm not Related. My husband and I bought a house here in Craig County once owned by Lillie Britts and her husband Frank Abbott. Lillie would be Susan Gertrudes sister, she is listed on a census as being three years older than Lillie. Lillie was born about 1874. I know that Samuel had been married before and he had 13 children. I only know of six. Frank,Fannie A., James B.,Susan G.,Lilli M.,and Adam S. These are his children with Mary Campbell. I hope this helps you get started some where. I just wanted know what Frank Abbott did for a living and was able to find this about Lillie. Good Luck on your search! Em

Jacob Britzious / Jacob Britzius Died 1794 Westmoreland Co. PA

Letters of Administration (filed in Westmoreland County, Greensburg PA) were granted for the estate of Jacob Britzious (so spelled) on 23 June 1794 to Christopher Truby, Mary Britzious and Frederick Rohrer, Jr. Mary Britzious / Mary Britzius was Mary Ann Truby (“Polly” Truby) who lived from 1775-1868. At the time of her husband’s death, she was about 19 years old. Polly was the youngest child of Colonel Christopher Truby (1736-1802) and Sybilla (Isabella) Bauman (1743-1801). She and Britzious had no children.

The Christopher Truby referenced in the legal document was either her father or her brother (Christopher Truby, born 1761). Frederick Rohrer, Jr. (1766/67-1794) was the brother-in-law of Jacob and Mary Ann Britzius—the husband of Catharina Truby Rohrer Marshall (1763/4-1806). Rohrer died within a few weeks of the death of Jacob Britzius. Bondsmen and sureties for the estate were Frederick Rohrer, Sr., and John Young. Polly Truby Britzius later married Dr. Simeon Hovey, 17 years her senior.

The court document is merely the record that these Letters of Administration were granted, with the actual files either lost or misplaced somewhere in the recesses of the courthouse. Jacob Britzious was remembered by the family as “Bridges”; see Mary Truby Graff, “Early History of Truby-Graff and Affiliated Families”, 1941; page 79. At present, we know nothing more about him.

Please be in touch, if this person in any way matches a record you have.

I am looking for one Julianne Britt who married Jacob Elmore in 1851 in Craig Co. Va. I have been to the grave site and I know that she was the daughter of William Britt and Sarah Damewood (Damood in some records) Do you have anything on Jacob Elmore
