Crzypopmac... it would definitely be a good idea to look into it further. It was a major case in law history, a standard for the current "self defense." It all fits, logically, just be good to have some data. I've looked and looked and although I find interesting descriptions of the crime and trial, nothing more specific on our ancestor.
