Not certain whether I should reply to you or to David Boroff but am certain I am related to you at least. My great grandmother was Nancy Brobeck b Oct 1869 in Ohio. she was married to William Rickey b May 1851 in Ohio also. In the 1900 US Fed Census, Ohio, Mecosta County, Morton Twnshp, they were both living with the Peter Boroff family and it states the relationship was brother-in-law. Can either of you shed any light on my relatives? I have been searching for a long time!

Sorry Paddy, I cannot offer any help. I do know that several Germans went to Ireland and then later to America. Some did not even know that they were of German stock.
My WENDEL family came over in 1732 from Frammersheim, German which is close to the Rhine.

Bill WINDLE
