My grandmother was a cousin to Fred Brock's wife, Lois Bristol Brock. She told this family story of Fred and Lois Brock: they lived in Galveston, TX. The couple drowned in a shipwreck of a dredge he was taking back to Texas, in the Gulf of Mexico in January 1895 with two of their 5 children. I am a descendant of a Mary A. Taylor and her first husband William Bristol. She later married a Brock, then a Ballew, widowed three times. She was allegedly orphaned when her parents died in New Orleans of a yellow fever epidemic, then adopted by cousins in the Brock family, and married for the first time around age 13. I'm very interested in all your information, as my GGGMo Mary A. Taylor was supposedly born in the West Indies. You may e-mail me directly at margaretmills (at) peoplepc (dot) com
