Left Germany in l846 and traveled to New Orleans, traveled to St. Louis where he married Maria Gesina Jansen, the on to Dubuque, Iowa for 2 years. They were both from Hanover, Germany and apparently met on the ship. They moved on to Guttenberg, Iowa about l848. Any information on father, mother, family. He was born in Jne 23, l8l9. I know about his children but not about his immediate family.
