Agnus, Anna & Lena Brom/Tx or OK

Looking for anyone connected to the Brom sisters, Anna, Lena, and Agnus. They would have been located somewhere in north Tx. or southern Ok. I have a picture of them standing with my grandfather in 1919. There is a cotton field behind them and the sisters appear to be ages 15-22, but I can't be sure of that. I won't part with the original, but I would be glad to share via scanned copy if any family is interested. This is not my family line, just a picture of my grandfather with friends. it's a really neat pic and know family would like to have a copy. Please contact me if anyone may have leads on this family.
Thanks
Rhonda

David -

I just read your posting today. Sorry for the long delay.

I have been told that Matej had a brother named Adalbert or Albert (an Adalbert Brom is listed as a witness on his marriage license), but I think he may have had another brother as well. Please keep me in mind if you find anything on a Jakub or Jacub.

Thanks!

Mike G

Re: BROM family in Texas

Mike,

I may have already passed this info on to you. If so please bear with me. My wife's mother is a Brom. Her father was named Albert and his father was named Jan/John. John was the originally immigrant to this country. They all settled/lived in the Moulton/Praha Texas area. Family information indicates that Jan Brom had a brother, Jakub/Jacob who originally lived in Praha area but who moved later after arriving in this country north to the Scurry County area of Texas. He was said to have lived in a small town near Synder called Hermleigh. On the way back from a spring break trip to New Mexico last week my wife and I stopped in Synder, the county seat, to try to verify Jakub's existence there. We are looking for the place in the CR that the Brom's came from as well so we were hopeful that there might be some information there that would identify the village of origin. We did locate Jakub's death certificate and there on the form it indicated that Jakub was from Netolice near Cesky Krumlov in Southern Bohemia. The information on the death certificate was given by someone named Anton Brom, who we guess may have been a son. We also visited Hermleigh and found the family gravesite. Jakub is buried there with his wife Anna, a daughter named Annie and another daughter named Frances. We are having a gentlemen search in the CR for us to locate the Brom's. This information will help us pinpoint his search to a smaller area.

Re: BROM family in Texas

Mike,

I believe you and I have corresponded before about the Sykora's from Lavaca county. The result of that contact was that you felt we were not the right group. I have gotten much more research data on my Sykora family from Lavaca county and have located and visited the village of origin in the CR this last July.
Anyway, that is not the reason I responded to this inquiry. It just so happens that my wife's mother was a Brom who was born of parents who settled/lived in Moulton, Lavaca County, Texas. We, like you, have been trying to locate this Brom family's village of origin. We have had no luck to date. We have seen records of a Matej Brom in Fayette County and have found another Matej Brom listed in a ship's passenger list of immigrants from CR. None of the information listed his village of origin. We have thought that Matej was maybe a brother to the Jan Brom we are seeking. My wife's mother said this last weekend that Jan had a brother, Jacub, who settled in a Texas town named Hermleigh near Snyder. We may research that brother to see if any records exist.
