It seems that you've found more information on his son than what I have. He was born in 1881, and all I have is a death certificate. I tried the national archives in search of information on his father's military unit, but they never responded to my query. I have copied and pasted your information into my file. You just never know what might help, and what may seem like a little to some folks, may end up helping a lot!!!! You obviously went to no little effort, and I sincerely appreciate it!!!
