Searching for any information regarding the BROOK(E) family of YORKSHIRE, specifically, SHEFFIELD and LEEDS at this point in time.
My gg grandfather, WILLIAM BROOK(E) was born in SHEFFIELD c. 1841 according to 1881 census. He married MARTHA LEYLAND born c. 1844 in LEEDS and the following children are shown on same census: CLARA, WILLEY, MARY, BENJAMIN, HANNAH, HARRY, ANNE, FANNY, EMILY, and FLORRY. All children were born between 1863 and 1879 in LEEDS.
HARRY was my great grandfather and he emigrated to the US c. 1907. He is also known to have gone to AUSTRALIA some time prior to that, possibly to visit his grandfather, WILLIAM LEYLAND, who must have emigrated after my gg grandmother's birth.
