some slightly new info on Anderson Brooks. I think I might have found him in Civil War records, but they have an alias of Anderson Brewer attached to him. He was never on a muster roll; always reported as away recruiting. I know the man he bought the property mentioned from was Major W. Clift, who was a union solder involved in the plan to burn all the bridges in TN across the Tennessee River so the Confederates could not move. Clift was notorious in TN. Anderson also named his youngest son, my ggrandfather, Vitruvius Kennedy Brooks after TN state senator, Vitruvius Kennedy Jackson, a Union doctor. I'm beginning to think he might have been a union spy in the Confederate army. Any help? Please!
