Sorry, I was replying to another message where someone was asking about them specifically. Gladys Bussell (Davis/Roteman) was given for adoption after her mother Bolinda Jennie Broomall died soon after childbirth. Her father was Alfred Dennis Bussell. Bolinda's father was Corwin Broomall who died in Michigan by falling onto a circular saw. Corwin was born in Ohio to Nathan and Jane Broomall 1842.

He was in Connellsville township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania in an 1823 list of taxables in "The History of Fayette County Pennsylvania". Had Children: William, Lydmy (?), Emma, Ann, Mary Jane and Amanda. Lydmy is what is in the 1850 census in Preston county, Virginia. I don't know that that would have been her actual name. That is all I have found so far.

P.S. dau. Lydmy seems to be son Sydney who was in the Civil War. He died of something to do with the heart on 23 Sep 1862 at the hospital in Frederick Maryland. I can't understand the Latin but he was there for a long time and it probably had something to do with an infection.

The Orner/Arner Family Association seeks descendants of:

JOHN SMITH BROOMALL, Sarah L. Orner, c1840-____, Tredyffrin; Phoenixville, Chester, PA.

You are almost certainly descendants of Hans Ulrich Arner and Verena Eberhardt, 1735 immigrants from Switzerland to Philadelphia. Join us for an August 24-25, 2002 gathering in beautiful Lehigh County, Pennsylvania (1 hour north of Philadelphia). For “reunion” information or to see where you fit into the *rner family, visit Joe Erner’s website at www.geocities.com/~erner/gen/arner which documents the Arner/Aner family to the 1500s, or contact us through the Arner Listserv at ARNER-L@rootsweb.com. We’re planning two fun-filled days including a catered Pennsylvania Dutch luncheon and the dedication of a memorial stone in the Heidelberg Union Church cemetery to honor the immigrants. Help us widen our circle of cyber-cousins and plan to attend. We welcome you.
