Classification: Query
Surnames: Brosch, Blaze, Gritski, Gritsky
Looking for information on the Blaze family, who came through Ellis Island in 1883. Do not have father's or mother's first names, though the last names are Blaze and Perkisa. They arrived with their three daughters and one son. All I know is that one daughter was Henrietta, who was 14 when the family arrived in New York. The family did not have enough money for all to make the train trip to their destination in NE, so Henrietta stayed behind, working as a servant to a wealthy Polish family in New York. At 16, she was married to a man named Fritz Gritsky or Gritski. The two had a son, and Fritz died shortly thereafter. By that time, Henrietta had the means to join her family in Nebraska, where she met and married Johann Brosch somewhere between 1888 and 1889. I can be reached at writerjon2003@yahoo.com. Thanks for your help!
