I am posting my interests in finding out more about these
2 people(my gg grandparents). The only record that I have
which indicates where they were from in Ireland is the
Illinois marriage record for their son, Michael John BRESNAHAN, which indicates he was from Tullylease, County Cork, Ireland.

*Johannah was from County Wexford, Ire. and the daughter of Michael Cody and Catherine O'Brien

Ellen B. Bresnahan-- Tippecanoe Co.,IN and Chicago, IL, m. Cornelius O'Keefe

Michael John Bresnahan--East StLouiss,StClairr Co., IL, m.1st,*Mary Gilmartin & 2nd, **Bertha Lancaster
*Mary Gilmartin was the daughter of Patrick Gilmartin and Brigette Gannon of Trenton, Clinton Cnty., IL
**Bertha Lancaster was the daughter of George Lancaster and
Katherine "Katie" Winters of E.St.Louis, IL

Julia and Bridget were in the order of the "Sisters of Mercy" and Hannah married and had a daughter by the married name of "Mrs.Cleary".

This family name of Brosnahan is recorded with these 3 spellings:
Brosnahan, BRESNAHAN and Brusnihan(Thomas).

Also, the IN Bresnahans(Benj.) spelled his name with more that one spelling:
Bresnahan,Bresenhen and Bresenhan.
