Classification: Query
Surnames: Brosnan, Brosnahan, Bresnihan etc...
Cornelius Brosnan married a Ellen Brosnan abt 1852 in Castleisland, they apparently had four children (Benjamin,Hugh,Johanna,Ellen),They all immigrated to New Zealand, the Passage of Hugh,Johanna and Ellen were partially paid for by a Timothy Brosnan(Son of a Hugh & Deborah Brosnan) already in Kerrytown, New Zealand,(What was their relationship ??) when Corn & Ellen Pased On, the death certs, showed Hugh Brosnan & Nora Barry & Hugh Brosnan & Ellen ? As their parents.
If they followed the Irish naming System by naming their first born after the fathers father and so-on, there must have been another child before Benjamin.I have searched the IGI but cannot find a Hugh Marrying a Nora Barry.whats more Complicated, is that they were Born as Brosnans, married as Brosnans, Immigrated as Brosnans, but died as Brosnahans.
This information is partially from Sean G Brosnahans Book.
Is there a Census for 1860 available for castleisland that may have this family on it.
Any Help Appreciated joining the two families together,(There are currently about 300 Brosnans,Brosnahans on my Computer)
