I would interested in comparing information. I have a comprehensive ancestry book titled "Les Brouillet-Bernard de Beloeil" by J. Elzear Bernard going back to Michel Brouillet who was born at GOUET in the old Province of Poitou, France, (now Department “de la Vienne”) of the marriage of Jacques Brouillet, miller, and his wife, Renee Vaiziennes, on May 3, 1645.

I'm new to ancestry.com. Can you contact me at: danjbernard (at) gmail.com

I suspect a branch of this family is the one that settled in South Dakota. I have a fairly comprehensive decendancy chart beginning with Michel Brouillet who was born at GOUET in the old Province of Poitou, France, (now Department “de la Vienne”) of the marriage of Jacques Brouillet, miller, and his wife, Renee Vaiziennes, on May 3, 1645.

Michel's oldest son, Bernard, changed the surname of his children to Bernard, in order to "single them out" from the children of his brothers.

Pauline,

Marie (Agathe) Brouillet was the daughter of
Jean Baptiste Brouillet and Marie-Anne
Galipeau. JB's father was named Joseph
Brouillet. Joseph's father was named Gilles
Brouillet. Gilles' father was named Michel
Brouillet. Michel's father was named Jacques.

I am a descendant of Gilles Brouillet through
his son who was also named Gilles.

Marie (Agathe)Brouillet was one of 12 children
that I know about. She married 3 times, first
to Joseph Forand, then to Joseph Gauthier, and
then to Alexis Gagnon.

I have a lot more information on Marie Brouillet's
siblings, parents, and their predecessors.

I'll be in Whitinsville on Sunday, Aug 22.
I just came across your message of 2000 that you referenced Ludivine Bernard of Argyle, Mn. I have been looking for several years for he parents. She is the mother of Malvina M. Morin who married David Joseph Dufault who where the Grandparents of my sister in law Annella Dufault. I have a most complete history of David and Melvina family I would love to share with you. My history is all in book and I would need your mailing address to get this to you.. I was lookin at the Brouillet history because I found that I am related through a Great Grand mother on my fathers side who was a beaudry and she ends up being related to Jacque born 1610 in France. I was born and raised in Argyle and have the history of most of the french familys in Argyle. Hope to hear from you soon Steve Thanks again

To Dave Decapua, Thank you for the information on my ggrandmother Alphonsine Brouillet.I do not know her siblings but she married Ovila St Jean and they had five children. My grandmother Albina was the oldest followed by Anna, Louise, Adliede,Hillare. I believe Hillare died around age 19.
Dave, You asked for siblings of my great grandmother, Alphonsine Brouilette She had Two and Possiably three brothers, Charles who married Domotil, He was in lumber cutting, and Hormidas, who married Malvina Cadeau, he worked for the city and his wife was a teacher. I believe Alphonsine also had a brother Thomas ,he was a wood carver. She also had at least one sister Rose, who married a Rivet. This information comes from a family album that my father gave me. My father had notes buy each of the pactures in the album. I hope this helps you. Geraldine

Looking for Charles Brouillet

My gr-gr-grandfather, Charles Riley came from Quebec about 1859 to Vermont. He was recorded in 6/1860 census in Addison Vermont, age 19. He later married that year. In the same 1860 census he is listed working on a farm, also listed was William Riley, age 17. I am not even sure that they were brothers.
Charles later died in 1863 after the battle of Gettysburg, leaving a 1 yr old son, Charles.
My grandmother always said that Charles's name in Canada was possibly Brouillet and he changed it to Riley when he came to Vermont. Brouillet meaning "riley" or "stale" or "murky" water. Loose translation I would guess.
Assuming that Charles and William were brothers, maybe someone out there has run across these two in a family group and does not know what ever happened to them.
There is an entire Riley clan here who would like to know their Canadian roots.

I have info back to Jacques Senesac (Senezaque) and his wife Jeanne Dreuse. I have alot of blanks to fill in. Care to help me out?

My father was Elmer Senesac, his father was David Victor, and his father was Cyprien Pierre Senesac. The man who I really need to know about is Cyprien's father, Cyprien, who was married to Eleonore Archambault in Henryville, Quebec.
I found her by accident. No one in the family I talked to knew about her. He later married Julia Giboleau. Do you know these names? Please let me know. If you need dates or other info, I can provide them for you. Thanks, Joni
