I saw this was an old post (7 years) but this is my husband's family tree. I was wondering if you got past Frank and Elizabeth? I can't seem to find out parents for either. John Brow is my FIL and the only records I can get are from military ones my MIL has. Not much to go on though.

Thanks in advance,
Jen

Re: descendants of Stephen BROW m. Roseanna COLUMB of Vermont

I can add several more children of John Brow and Susan Howard. My great great grandfather was Lawrence J. Brow. I just recently saw his death record and it listed his parents as John Brow born in NY and Susanna Howard born in Swanton, VT. Lawrence was also born in Swanton. I have been unable to find his birth record but he died May 14, 1899 at the age 70 years 10 months 21 days. If my math is correct this puts his birthday at about June 23, 1828. He married Jane Thomas but I don't know the date. They lived in St Albans and Georgia Vermont. Sometime between 1880 and his death they moved to Westford Massachusetts, I believe to be closer to their son Byron, my great grandfather, who lived in Dunstable Massachusetts and their daughter Nettie Brow Waller. I also found other siblings of Lawrence's that you don't have on your list, I got them from census records. I've listed them below. I would love any information you have on this line.
Thanks,
Sarah
I have researched the following info - would like confirmation and any further information.

Descendants of Stephen Brow m. Rosella Colomb

Rosanna Brow Levick was the daughter of Stephen Brow and Rosella Colomb. She married Edward J Levick in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Swanton Vermont on Jan 13, 1881. They had 6 known Children: John, Julia, Rosa, Louis-Edward, Susan and George-Dewey. Rosanna was admitted to the Waterbury state hospital on July 31, 1910, she remained there till her death on Jan 28, 1915, her cause given as Paralysis and contributing cause: Syphillis. She was buried in St Mary's Cemetery in Swanton Vermont. She is listed on a stone with other females, one is believed to be her mother, Rose Brow b 1835 and died 1899? Also listed on stone is a Julia Perron 1853-???? and Melvina Brooks 1876-1935.

Family links:
Children:
Louis-Edward Sevair Levick (1888 - 1905)*
George D Levick (1889 - 1960)*
Susan Levick Ryan (1892 - 1984)*

Spouse:
Edward J Levick (1862 - 1928)*

NOTE:
Susan Levick Ryan was my grandmother. I have just begun the search for family information - have found the following web site full of information.

www.linkpendium.com/genealogy

The earliest genealogy info that I have, is that John was the son of Edward Browe/Brow/Broe/Bro/Brault and Catherine Gerieux/Giroux. He was born in Quebec - L'Acadie is a guess due to an Edouard Broe m. Catherine Guerin. John moved to Mass. and had two of his children there. I just recently located a 1880 census for the Westboro, Worcester, MA area which has a Catherine Brow widow living with her son Joseph. This page has other Brows on it as well. My John was already in Ontario at the time. Sorry I cannot push it further back.
Robert,

The birth date for John was derived from the only source I have - the 1901 census for Thamesvill, Kent Co., ON. The year makes no sense to the age given (which would be more consistent with 1844 and the age he gave in 1881and 1891). The place of birth for John was a guess - thus the question mark. His parentage is given on the marriage vital stats of ON(apparently forced marriage to legitimize a birth) as son of Edward Brow and Catherine Gerieux born in Quebec. Two of John's sons were born in Massachusetts, and I found a Catherine Brow b. QC living in 1881 in Westborough, Wescester, MA (a widow). I have yet to find John in Massachusetts in 1871 and to find his first marriage to my ancestor Annie Smith. I cannot find and Edward Brow and Catherine Gerieux/Giroux anywhere in QC. The only Edward and Catherine which comes close is Edward and Catherine (Guerin) Broe. Someday I hope to solve the problem.

Brian

Joyce, I have hunted for so long to find some connections and just received my great-grandmother's death certificate yesterday. Now I find your message. It all seems too coincidental and very exciting!
Here is what I have:
My great grandmother: Priscilla LAFAVE Hunt b. 1882 Lake Lelanau (also Leelanau) d. Grand Rapids Mich 1952.
Parents: George LAFAVE & Virginia BROW.
From 1880 Census (2 yrs before Priscilla was born): Zilwaukee, Saginaw Mich.
GEORGE LAFAVE - Wife VIRGINIA, dau. VIRGINIA, dau. Rosa. Also in the Household: Nephews - Noah, Oliver & Umbrize BREW with OTHERS: Betzis, John & James ST. MARY.
Poking around the LDS site I found a submission that had a BROW with Spouse ST. MARY, son Ambrose BROW is listed as marrying a Philomena & has a daughter Philomena.
From her obituary I know that my great grandmother also had a brother Mose(s) LaFave. From his Obit, I have his wife & children's names.

Hi,

I am interested that there are Brows in the USA.

My mother was a Brault. Her father was born in St. Donat, Quebec. Some generations before his birth, his ancestors had come to Quebec from near Baintree, Mass, USA. They had previously been deported to the U.S. from Acadia (Nova Scotia) in 1755. My first Brault ancestor was Vincent Bro, who came to Port Royal, N.S. in 1651, from Poitu, France.

Wouldn't it be interesting if we were all cousins - and descendants of Vincent Bro?

There are 3 lines of BRAULT

BOnjour MIllie,

You posted: [I am interested that there are Brows in the USA. Wouldn't it be interesting if we were all cousins - and descendants of Vincent Bro?]

Some Brault in MA write their name BROW but it is mostly those from midwest that write it that way (IL, WI and MI). THere are three lines of Brault, one of wich is the acadian branch (the most numerous) that moved around quite a lot by force or by choice. THe ancestor of that line is Vincent Brault.

THe two other lines are the Brault dit Pominville for wich the first ancestor is Henri and the Brault dit Lafleur for wich the first ancestor is Mathurin. All these first ancestor came to North America in the 17th century: Vincent to Acadia and the two others to Quebec.

Au revoir,

Bonjour Ursula,

You posted: [Seeking info on Fred Brow--married to Julia Young. Lived in Rouses Point, NY. Daughter Ethel born in Rouses Point 2/21/1902
Thanks, Ursula]

I have this couple in my database. Julia YOUNG is an anglicized form of Julie LAJEUNESSE. I have all their ancestors on Fred's side. Would be very interested in completing this family line as I have three children for that couple: Estella Marie, Ada and Ethel.

You can contact me at my email address:
robert.brault@ens.csaffluents.qc.ca

Au revoir, Robert
