I have reason to believe that the following are related to the Moses BROWN family of Meriwether Co., GA, but I have no proof. Can anyone help?
William H. BROWN (b. ca 1836 GA--probably Meriwether Co., GA) m. Sarah JONES (b. 1835 Meriwether Co., GA; d. 1925 Paulding Co., GA per death certificate) ca 1857, probably in Meriwether Co., GA. Per her death certificate, Sarah's father was James JONES, and her mother "Eddy" (did not specify if "Eddy" was a first or last name).
Their children (from census records) were:
Nancy A. b. ca 1858
James David b. ca 1861
Sarah Willie b. ca 1863
John L. b. ca 1866
Andrew Jackson b. ca 1869
Parker F. b. ca 1871
Thomas b. ca 1874
Mary b. ca 1876
I believe this William H. BROWN to be the son of David S. BROWN and Jemima WHITLEY, who were married 21 Jun 1835 in Meriwether Co., GA, but I have no proof of this. William H. (age 14) is found with David S. BROWN in the 1850 census in Meriwether County, and appears to be the same William H. who is still in Meriwether County in 1860, while David moved to Worth Co., GA by 1860. William H. is then found in Carroll and Paulding Counties 1870-1900. He appears to have died between 1900-1920, probably in Paulding County. Also living in Worth Co., GA in 1860 was Spencer BROWN who married Lureny BAILEY in Jones Co., GA; I have not found a definite connection between Spencer and David, but I suspect them to be related somehow as David had a grandson named Spencer, and they lived near each other in 1860 (both were apparently deceased by 1870).
According to her death certificate, Sarah (nee JONES) BROWN (and I hope, too, William H. BROWN) is buried at New Georgia Church, in Paulding Co., GA, but I have not been able to find a listing of burials there.
Any assistance with and insight to this family would be greatly appreciated!
