ESCONDIDO ---- Laverne Albert Broyles, 64, died Friday, July 21, 2000. Born
Sept. 31, 1935, in Yakima, Wash., he lived in Escondido for 11 years. He
graduated from high school in Sterling, Neb., and served in the U.S. Air Force
from 1954 to 1957. He earned a degree in business administration at Woodbury
College in Los Angeles, where he served as president of his fraternity. He
worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in San Francisco and various places
around the state for 33 years before retiring in Los Angeles in 1998. Mr.
Broyles was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mabel Broyles of
Dresden, Kan.; and sister Eulla Loraine Broyles. He is survived by his wife,
Donna Broyles of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Vickie and Jack Bagner
of Casper, Wyo., Andrea and Jeff Hastings of Kona, Hawaii, and Collette and
Brian Johansen of Sacramento; grandchildren Jenifer Crawford of Choteau,
Okla., Jaci Bagner of Casper, William Bryant of Sacramento and Ashley Hastings
of Kona; great-grandchildren Austin, Jenea and Vanna Crawford; sisters Donna
Linnell of Riverton, Wyo., and Marlene Smith of Salt Lake City; and several
nieces and nephews.
