Re: Reinhard Bruck of Hamilton, Butler Co. OH

Did some research and went to Greenwood to look at his headstone. On his headstone, his name is spelled "Rheinhardt". I found him in both the 1860 census, living with parents and siblings, and then again in 1870 with his brother Lewis and another family. I've determined that his mother Elizabeth remarried a John Lichte after the death of his father, Frederick Bruck, who died (I think) as a result of injuries during the Civil War. So the family Rheinhardt is with in 1870 is his mother and her new family along with his younger brother Lewis. She lives until 1911. Rheinhardt, his mother and her second husband along with a sibling/half sibling George Lichte are all buried in Greenwood Sec. Zion, Lot 12 and all have headstones. (Rheinhardt and George have semi-matching headstones and they are kinda neat actually I think.)

Message me your email address and I will send photos if you want them.

You might also research Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio. In particular, Greenwood now includes "Burials on the Web", an alphabetical listing of interments. Type in the surname, Bruck. I saw a Rhinhardt Bruck listed.

This is a little old but thought I'd add. I have that Frank Bruck, son of William and Flora, married a Thelma Roof abt. 1920. They had a daughter Shirley Helen who died before turning 1. Frank and Thelma divorce and she marries again.
Now William was also married prior to Flora. I believe her name was Katie Schubert. She and William had three kids: Freda, Stella, and William. Katie dies in 1897 and William marries Flora after Katie's death. William dies in 1921. Flora I know marries twice more after that.
I'm related to at least some Brucks in Butler County. But I have been trying to track all Brucks in Butler County to see how we all may be related.

I am searching for info on the line coming from Peter Bruck who immigrated to NY from Hamburg, Germany in 1864 with his wife Marie Bertalott Bruck. I am trying to follow their migration from NY to Iowa. I know they were in Aurora, Ill. in 1870, and in Greenbush, Wisconsin prior to settling a homestead in 1879 in Battle Creek, Iowa. Can anyone give me any information on this branch? Thank you!
- courtney.hemperly@yahoo.com

I am the great great grandaughter of John Peter Bruck (b. 1819) in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1835 and settled in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio. Married Maria Klein ca. 1840. They had 8-9 children.

I would be interested in other information you have on Bruck's.

Donna
Massachusetts

Reinhard Bruck of Hamilton, Butler Co. OH

I'm searching for the descendants of Reinhard (sometimes misspelled as Rineheart) BRUECK/BRUCK (b ~1849 in Germany) and wife Catharine (b ~1849 in Germany),maiden name unkn.
Reinhard immigrated with his parents Friedrich and Elisabeth BRUCK when he was 2 years old on 27 Sep 1852.
I have been unable to locate the family on the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census. In 1900, I found Reinhard BRUCK (50) living in Hamilton Ward 4, Butler Co., OH with his wife Catharine (50) and son Charles BRUCK b. ~1873, and a daughter 'Carrel' (possibly misspelled Carol(ine), age 12.
The BRUCK name was originally spelled BRUECK; most all of the BRUCK families in Butler Co. came from small villages near Wetzlar, Hesse.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone researching or connected with this family.
Not this particular John, but there were so many 'Johns' it is hard to keep track of them. I cannot find a John Bruck in my database who was married to an Anna. Do you know her maiden name or any children's names to help me narrow it down?
I am always looking for information about the Brucks of upstate NY, especially the decendents of Nicholas Bruck and Barbara Roehrig. As far as I can tell, there are none of them in Kingston today - all the Kingston Brucks are decendents of Peter Bruck (Nicholas's cousin) and Elizabeth Recktenwald.

Thank you for the information. These are all names which I already have on my web site at RootsWeb.com. Your grandmother, Nellie Elizabeth (Bruck)Johnson was my maternal aunt. My mother was Hazel Margaret (Bruck) Palmer (1909-1982). Their parents were Harry William Bruck and Nellie May Stultz. The Nellie Elizabeth Bruck referenced in my original message was John Benjamin Bruck's daughter and sister of Harry William. She was born in 1884 and I do not have a DOD.

Please visit www.RootsWeb.com and type in your grandmother's name and you will be directed to my database,
drdonnaw. From there, you will be able to see a rather detailed and lengthy Bruck family history (so far!)

Best wishes!

Dr. Donna Palmer Wilson

My Grandfarher is Frank Earl Bruck Birth 05-JUL-1899 Died in Bradenton FL 06 APR 1973. Married My Grandma (who is now 96 years old) is DeEsta Faye Bisbee on 26th May 1928 Madina OH. His parents were William (P or G) Bruck Mother was Flora Chapin, They had 3 children Joey Bruck Manning, Morris Earl Bruck my dad who goes by the name of Pete. And Thomas Ferdick Bruck who died in Vietman.

We think he was married before and thought he was an only Child but I have found records disputing that. Census of 1900 shows William and Flora had Freda M, Eslella W, William E listed as Siblings of Frank. Boy were we surprized. We are trying to find out anything we can on the Bruck side. We were lucky and was able to find DeEsta's side of the family. Wishing for luck on the Bruck's Any information you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Karen

PS My Mom keeps saying William (Squire) Bruck but not sure why. DeEsta is a little to old to remember clearly.

My grandmother's Burkardts came supposedly from La Soleure Switzereland, but she insists they came from Austria. I have been leaving posts everywhere! Here's what I know. My 5th-great grandfather was Benois/Benoit Burkhard. He was married to Marie Dutillier/Destelly. Their son, Francois Barrios Burkhard was born in La Soelure , Switz. He immigrated to the US and married a Louisianan Magdalein Weber in 1810. I have a little more info on their descendants here, but I can't seem to find out anything about them. I would appreciate any assistance.
Thanks-Debbie (drreulet@charter.net)

Adam and his parents and siblings emigrated July 1850 from Havre on the ship Onward.
Bruck was also spelled Brueck, and sometimes misspelled Brick.
I'm also looking for connections to the Bruck family.
