We are seeking info on Miami Co. Brumbaughs. Our ancestors lived next to them and are buried in the Brumbaugh Cemetery.
Specifically, do you have any information on their date of departure from Bedford Co. PA and any others who moved with them to Newberry Twp in Miami Co? We are descendants of the Swanks. Also, do you know specifically where in Bedford County the family was living prior to the move to Ohio?

My Aunt Betty Brumbaugh from NJ passed away a few years ago. I know my mother, Edith A. Brumbaugh Vanderbeck, Betty's sister-in-law, spoke of a half-sister, their father being Jacob O. Brumbaugh.

I have his birth as 24 Jan 1903 in Washington, D.C. the son of Gaius Marcus Brumbaugh & Catherin Elliott Brown. He reportedly died in 1969.

His wife, Margaret McKeever, was born 03 Jul 1906 and died 04 Oct 2006 in Wilson Health Care Center, Gaithersburg, Montgomery County, Maryland.

His daughter, Margaret E. Kerstetter, was born 09 Oct 1932 in Chevy Chase, Montgomery County, Maryland, and died 28 Jan 2006 in Auburn, Placer County, California.

Accord to Margaret's obituary, a son Elliott F. "Buck" Brumbaugh, Jr., lives in Arlington, Virginia. A Google search for "elliott brumbaugh arlington virginia" without the quotes yields an address and phone number.

I am interested in information about a Moses Brumbaugh who married Ann Black. Ann was a sister to my g-g grandmother Matilda Celestia Black Fraze. I am particularly interested in any information concerning the Black family.
I found a newspaper article in the Muscatine Journal, Muscatine, Iowa, on December 4, 1913 that Mrs. H.A. Fraze was going to attend the funeral of her sister, Anna Brumbaugh at White Lake, SD.

Hi Danile, the names you are talking about are very familiar to me. Did your line settle in Missouri (Sullivan County) for awhile. My line came from PA and on thru Indiana and settled in Missouri, but some of them ended in in Goldendale Washington what I presumed was the Gold Rush. My GGrandmother was Katie Mae Brumbaugh, married to Charles Ola Mills and Katies father was John Brumbaugh, I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a descendant of Johann Jacob B and David Angle B, and thence through son Simeon, his son Simon, and his son Roy T. Brumbaugh.

#1 Maryland endangered historical site for 2009 is Brumbaugh farmstead near the Hagerstown, MD airport which wants to bulldoze the houses and barn. Maryland Historical Trust has put a stop to it and apparently they might move it to preserve it.

Family home of Brumbaugh north of Hagerstown, MD, is next to airport which wants to bulldoze it. Washington Co acquired it and now wants to preserve it somehow.It is as of now 3-29-09 Maryland's #1 endangered histroric site. http://www.herald-mail.com/cmd=displaystory&story_id=219...
I believe it was originally owned by Johann Jacob Brumbaugh (b. ca 1728 and died 1799).

These are fairly common first names and you offer no dates or place names where they were born, lived or died. If you can provide some of these many of us may be able to help you. Keep in mind the name Brumbaugh was spelled in various ways , including Brunbach. My ancestor , Gerhard Brunbach came over in 1682 on the Concord and was one of the first settlers of Germantown, PA. so a lot of family history may be available to you.Brunbach wa s anglesized to Brownback in subsequent generations.

Obituary from the Martinsburg Herald, Friday, January 19, 1923:
"THE DEATH RECORD / MRS. ANNIE BRUMBAUGH / Mrs. Annie Brumbaugh, wife of C. O. Brumbaugh, of New Enterprise, died at 11 o'clock Tuesday night at the family home from a complication of diseases, after a year's illness. Deceased was born July 16, 1865, the daughter of Daniel and Regina Ebersole, both deceased. The husband and one son, Howard, and one daughter, Mrs. William Ober, both of New Enterprise, survive. The following brothers and sisters also survive: E. S. and C. F. Ebersole, of Altoona; Mrs. H. A. Brumbaugh, of Llyswen, and Mrs. C. Ross Fluke, of Altoona. At the Church of the Brethren at New Enterprise, of which the deceased was a member, the funeral will be held this Friday morning, the cortege to leave the home at 10:30 o'clock. Interment will follow in the New Enterprise cemetery."

Hi, looking to find any available information on Anna Maria Brumbaugh, born about 1775 in Bedford County PA, married Daniel Kensinger about 1790. She was the daughter of John/Johannes Brumbaugh, who patented 1500 acres in Morrisons Cove, now the site of Martinsburg.

In a scrapbook of my deceased mothef in law there is a large picture dated Xmas 1934 Dayton. One blond women and 3 blond beautiful children - two girls and one boy. The name is just listed as N.K. BRUMBAUGH. I would love to find this picture a home. Side note - as a friend of my mother in law, she might be from Grand Rapids Michigan, or she might have gone to the Univ of Mich with my mother in law.

My maternal Aunt Adrienne was married to Doc Brumbaugh. Her maiden name was McGonnell, she was one of 4 sisters one of which was my grandmother Elizabeth, another sister/great aunt was named Hannah. looking for anyone who new these family members or who might be family. Previous family names would be McGonnell and another generation back Sexsmith or Sixsmith. I believe they came over from Ireland in the Potatoe famine years. Thanks, Rich
