Hi. I grew up in the house that Richard Brumsey lived in, in Marshall county. I believe that, from Grandma's stories, the John Brumsey lived there also. How much info do you have on the family around the time they lived in Marshall county Il? Don't know for sure if there is a connection.

John Brumsey

I came across some old family photos and a couple of papers bearing the name Brumsey this morning in some items left for the trash by a commercial lessee who moved out of the complex where I work this weekend. Being interested in our own family's genealogy, I couldn't let these pass on to the landfill system. I immediately jumped on the net at work to search the name. I have a card from one sister to another to Minnie Brumsey from Beulah Brumsey for New Year's wishes, 1899.......! I also came across a number of snapshots of a man named Austin on a farm and also references to Don, a picture of a young boy, Billie and a horse named Barney.

I also have a tax receipt from the Treasurer's office in York County, Nebraska in the name of (Jno.?) A. Brumsey dated September 12, 1917 as well as a church program from Racine, WI; a meat company receipt from Bradshaw, Nebraska in the name of Mr. John Brumsey but it is dated 1909, later than the John you seek. Anyway, there are a couple of beautiful photos.... of a little girl as well as a mother and baby (5 different poses printed in a strip and being smaller than what you get from an old photo booth plus a photo that looks like grandparents and a little blonde boy with the stamp (Webco enlargement - March 24, 1939) on the back. Do any of these names ring a bell or fall into your area of reasearch? I will continue to search for connections tonight. This is my work email, home is goldcountrysatellite@hotmail.com. Thank you. Sandy.
