Our Brunes came first to Franklin Cty MO between 1840 and 1847 and later moved to Douglas County Kansas. The immigrants were Fredrich Wilhelm Brune, b. 1791 in Borgholzhausen Westfalia, Anne Marie Sirp Brune b. 1793 in Bokel, Westfalia, her son, Fred born abt 1820 in Hoerste, Westfalia,, Marie Louise b. abt 1822,in Hoerste, Westfalia, Heinrich Whilhelm August b 1831 in Hoerste, Heinrich Wilhelm aka Johan, b. 1834 in Hoerste. We have been looking for August in the records for a long time. Fred married Charlotte Riecke. Our Fred's kids included Charlotte b. 1851, Gustave b.1854 and Franz (Frank) b.1857.

I looks as though we are the same family. We have some research back into Westfalia for you, lots of cousins, and many stories!!! My GGgrandfater was Henry b. 1834. I will try to send your address to one of Fred's descendants so she can share with you as well.
