my oldest known forefather is "christofel brune" - or maybe "christophel" or "christoffel". living end of the 17th century in "gross brunsrode" and "essenrode" near braunschweig/germany/lower saxony. the name of his spouse is unknown.

does anybody know about his forefathers? where they lived. where they maybe come from to lower saxony.

only a speculation is: christofel and his family were hugenotts, which moved to lower saxony from france or benelux.
