If you are still at the same e-mail address, I'm wondering how the search for Brunette famiies in Massachusetts has gone? In particualar, I'm interested in the family and descendants of Gilbert and Marie-Delphine (Grise) Brunette. They immigrated from Quebec to the New Bedford area in 1886 with at least their sons Gilbert, Nectaire and Joseph. There should be a number of Brunette descendants in the area.

Nectaire Brunette

Looking for information about the family of Nectaire Brunette, born 1878 in St. Jean Baptiste, Quebec, died 19 September 1941 New Bedford, MA. He married Cedelie Ouelete about 1900. We are not sure if they were married in Quebec or the New Bedford, MA area. All of their children were born in New Bedford beginning about 1902. According to the 1881 Canada census, Nectaire may have been the son of Guilbert Brunette (born ca. 1848) who resided in 1880 in Ste-Liboire, Bagot, Quebec. Siblings listed are Gilbert (born 1875), Adelard (born about 1876) and Joseph (born about 1880).

Laura Brunette

I have a newspaper article found in my grandmother's things. It was printed in the Muskegon, MI newspaper. It concerns Laura Brunette who came to Muskegon from Detroit with her son. She was a real estate saleswoman and age 92 at the time of this undated article. She was a good friend of my grandmother who was born in 1878, so I am assuming Laura was about the same age. She lived at 254 Amity Ave. in Muskegon. Her daughter is Mrs. William H. Jepsens of 480 Langley Ave. nearby. She has 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. I can forward the article to anyone who is interested.

Re: Another Brunette out there

You should start with your parents. Ask where, when they were born, any interesting stories they can remember growing up as kids. Next ask the same questions to their brothers/sisters your aunts/uncles. If your grandparents are still alive, same questions. Census records are only published after 70 years so right now only 1930 is visible. Next year they will release 1940 and so on. <br>My Brunette family went from Quebec to upper Michigan in 1843. Most stayed there or upper Minesaota. Some went to the Detroit area, where I'm from. The military took me to Washington State where I now live. I don't have any Brunette's gone to California but Brunet/Brunett/Brunette were very common french names in Quecec and France. It's will take a little while but eventully everything will fall into place. Get organized and start asking your questions. Once you get the genealogy bug, yu'll never put it down because it's never finished. Good luck. Steve Brunette

Sophia's parents were Jean Louis Corbeil and Angelique Archambault. Sophia was born 10/25/1853 - d. 7/24/1923. Alphonse &amp; Sophia were married 10/25/1882. Both died in Duck Creek (Town of Howard) and are buried in the Fort Howard Cemetery.
