Hi Leda, Thank you so much for answering. I was so excited when I found this link. I seem to be missing a connection somewhere, though--and I am only beginning my search--depending upon my memory of my grandmother and aunt's memories. My lineage is my father, John Richard (b. 11-27-1915, d. 9-7-1979) He had only 1 sister-Geneva Alene. My grandfather, John Enoch (b. 3-15-1888, d. 8-5-1960) He had 3 sisters--Donie, Dollie and Olllie. His father John Goode (b. 12-4-1856 d. 1-28-1938). That was where I thought it went back to A.S. that my grandmother thought was John Goode's father. The ages would match, but A.S must have been an uncle or related in some other way since John Goode is not in your list of his children. Maybe I can find JG connected to Benjamin. My grandfather John lived beside "the old home place" where he was born as was my father. It was out in the country at Naruna. In their age there might have been a post office there and a general store. All I remember being there is a church and the cemetery where my grandfather and father are buried. Naruna is between Lampasas and Burnet in Central Texas. My brother and I (John Clark) have always thought we were like the only ones around--at least named Bruton. My grandfather had 3 sisters and we did know them and their families, but my father had settled in East Texas when he married my mother and it was a long trip down that way.
Do you by any chance have a list of Benjamin's children? If John Goode is not there, then I'll have to look for another connection. With the name Bruton it does seem there must be a connection somewhere!
Anxious to hear from you,
Shirly Bruton Ford
