Hi I am looking for more info on Samuel Brewton or Bruton, father of George Bruton b abt 1744 who married Susan Wilson in Anson NC, James Bruton b abt 1742 who married Elizabeth and settled in Madison Co AL, Samuel Bruton and my ancestor, David Bruton b abt 1736-1740 who married Susannah unknown and lived in Spartanburg Co SC.
I have a great deal of info and verification on David's descendents, but have not been able to find much on Samuel Brewton b 1700. I am wondering what records were used to connect him to my David and David's brother James, who both settled on the Tyger River in Spartanburg Co SC.
Have found evidence in land deeds that David Bruton b abt 1736-1740 was also possibly in Anson Co NC before moving to Spartanburg.
I am also wondering how (or if) Samuel Brewton b 1700 was connected to the family of Miles Brewton b abt 1698 who lived in Charleston SC. I am curious because the name "Miles" recurs in my branch of the Brutons many times over several generations, and also the name "Pinckney" or "Pinkney". I believe that one of Miles Brewton's daughters was somehow related to the Pinckney family. Thomas Pinckney b 1750 SC played an important role in the American Revolution , and he married both Elizabeth and Frances Motte, whose mother was Rebecca Brewton. Rebecca was I believe, Miles Brewton's daughter.
Any info or comments greatly appreciated.
