I know this thread is old but I thought I would try anyway. I am the youngest member of what seems to be a terminal branch of the Rhode Island Bryers. I put my tree together on www.sharedtree.com as far as I can tell our Patriarch was one Joseph Bryer, b. 1645 in England. He married Mary Gould who gave him a daughter, Elizabeth, married Borden. When Mary G died he married Mary Palmer, of which the only surviving child was John Bryer. Another son, Joseph, died of smallpox at 17. Mary P was widowed, remarried Christopher Almy, and had two more children who died as toddlers. What a tragic family, right? What I do not know is 1. How much of my tree is accurate and 2. Where Joseph came from and when, nor do I know anything of his English history. If anyone can help me, or if this helps anyone, please let me know.

Andrew Bryer and Belle Broadway were my dad's John Bryer parents. I have never heard of a Linus Earl Bryer. John and Goldie were brother and sister. I remember my mother telling about Dad's Sister Gerani was accidently shot and killed by one of her young daughers. Tom Smith was her husband. Kind of a mystery there. I wish you success in your search.

Thanks for the info. I will look to see if I can verify if it is the same Goldie Bryer, my husband's grandmother. He does have a picture of a Linus Earl, Bud, and Bill Bryer. I will check with him if any of the other names sound familiar. Was your dad's father's name Andrew Bryer and he married Belle Broadway.I wonder if she was related to Lily Broadway who was my husband's great grandmother?

The names in your message I do recognize. John Bryer was my Dad's name. He had 9 siblings as I recall. Sisters: Goldie, Marie, Lena, Gerania was married to Tom Smith. I recall his brothers, Bill, Ollie, and Robert. I can not recall the other two names. I may have it confused with his dad Andrew's family. My dad's mothers name Belle Broadway. My dad settled in Texas in 1943 and my mother was Bernice Williams. I lost track of my Uncle Ollie and his wife, Aunt Mae in the 1970's. I only recall meeting my Aunt Goldie one time and that was at my dad's furneal in 1970. Aunt Marie came to see us several times. She was married to I believe Alfred Brewer. Does any of this sound familiar?

I am looking for any information on Goldie Bryer, b.ca 1900 married Melvin Worton. She is my husband's grandmother. I understand she had a sister, Gerania, who married a Tom Smith. According to our family her father was an Ollie Bryer, but probably not the one who is a son of Abel Bryer. Looking for any dates, parents, siblings of Goldie.

If your mother was Sofia and your dad was Ray,you have a brother named ?Melvin and two sisters, one we called "Joboy" when I was a child, then we are related. My grandmother was Priscila Bryer Thorndyke. Her sister was Sofia and her mother was Armerni Joles and her father was Solomon Bryer. My grandmother also had a brother named Melvin who lived in Beeville, Texas. My dad was Don Thorndyke and my om was Shirley. I lived in Houston,Texas most of my life.

Hi Shirley,
maybe Breier was also spelt BREUER, just like Treichel and Treuchel, in the old days. Breuer, Bräuer or Brauer means "brewer".

yes porkys knows all them names. i will make you copys and mail them to you this week, will you do the same with you pic. yes dales oldest son is dale robert. no jenny never talked about her child hood. your dad and stepmom raised her, i cant thank of her name right now. i will try to get some info together for you , i will mail it, as you know some people dont want there info put on the net.

cline ? i have a picture posted on ancient faces who i thought was walt oliver and my dad with their trucks, taken before 1960, i was about 5 when walt died,,this picture my mother had for years,i assumed it was walt and my dad, turns out i was wrong ,the guys in the picture was ed cline and elmer cline,,would you know of them ?

I also have William J.b.1874 and Charles Alfred b. 1875 belonging to George and Phoebe's family.
Our line descends from Annie Bryer, sister of George H., who married William Miller.
Both George and Annie were children of John and Selina (Payne)Bryer.

I have George Herbert Breyer married to Phoebe Ellen Ireland. Children are: Frank, Richard, George Herbert, Frederick, Florence Mable, Annie Elizabeth, and Harriet Selena. Of these children, I only have info on Florence-Mable's descendants. George was born in Derbyshire, England and Phoebe was born in Holland.

Do you have anymore info on Anne Brier's parents or siblings?
My great grandmother was Katarina Brier and she had 2 brothers, Julius and Wilhelm, that I know of. There is a 13 year gap between Julius and Katarina. I am sure that there are siblings out there somewhere. Their parents were Daniel and Maryanna (Wetzel)Katarina and Julius both settled in Alberta, Canada from Poland.(but German)

Well the next generation above Cain Bryer & Mozella Wharton would be this
: Cain parents were John Bryer & Johanna Stanley
Johanna was daughter of Owen Stanley & Harriet Wharton
I think Mozella might be a daughter of Ephraim Wharton who could be brother to Harriet ( unconfirmed )
I am at the present doing about the Bryer family
I know they came over with the Stanley family from England on SS Osprey in 1856 via Scotland traveling up from Cornwall

Like I say this is also my family all mixed up with many English Families of Gypsy descendant who came to USA Cooper Broadway Buckland Stanley Riley Harrison Jeffry Smith & more

John & Johanna had 10 children we know of: Cain 1842, Abel 1844, Georgeanna 1847, Mary 1851, John 1852, Jemoricia 1857, Johanna 1858, Alleghaney 1862, Elias 1866, Brittana 1867.

I can tell you about some of them - these children are buried in Pataskala Cemetery Pataskala Licking County Ohio
As is Johanna Stanley Bryer

Johanna Bryer b 1857- d 1874
John Bryer b 1818 – d 1882 ( could this be her Husband ?

Georgina Bryer married Charles Broadway
after she died :Mar.31,1881 Evansville Vanderburgh County Indiana, USA
Her sister Allghaney also married Charles Broadway they lived their lives in Toledo she died -Death:Sept. 25, 1946 buried- Woodlawn Cemetery Lucas County Toledo USA

Gladys Adelia Dodd Bryer Birth: Jul. 9, 1898 -Death:Nov. 27, 1955 - Married to Abraham Tilton Bryer
Abraham Tilton Bryer Birth:Nov. 6, 1879- Death:May 1, 1942
both are buried in Brookside Memorial Park Houston Harris County Texas
Also his parents were Cain Bryer & mozella Wharton
And yes they were originally English Gypsies who came over to America and settled

My name is Jennifer Bryer Ragsdale of TX. My Dad is James Tilton Bryer of TX, my Granda is TW(Thomas William)Bryer born in OKL but lives in TX, and his father was Abraham Tilton Bryer (born I think in OHIO buried in TX). This is as far back as I could go. My Grandpa told me of uncles or great uncles that were triplets Cain, Able, and one other. I do not have much information on Abraham Tilton Bryer other than he was gypsy and his father was born in England. My grandpa would tell all of us grandchildren that we were gypsies, but we didn't have any proof or information. Do you think that we might have some relatives? Or do you have some information that might help me?

I don't know how much success you have had, but I am now wondering if maybe you can help me. My ancestor was a Benjamin Hill, who lived in Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts. In 1788, he married a woman named Sarah Bryer. There are NO other records for any Bryers in Rehoboth and she must have been from elsewhere. I looked at the 1790 census to see what other Bryers might live close by and the closest ones I saw were in Rhode Island. Do you know anything about this family? Might they have had a Sarah born in about 1765-1770? Thank you.

I am assisting Marcella Simon Kelly with our tree since my grandaunt Letha Cleone Morgan married Valentine Simon. Also in contact with Tammy May Dismuke as being part of the "group" as well as a Darlene Brown at times.

Very interested in your data and photos.

Did Mary Ann Simon have a twin sister named Nettie 'Nelly' M'ary' Cooper that married Louis A Gold? I don't believe Marcella had this information.

My searching started with a Lori (Simon) Sprague posting about 1999 which had much of the Morgan connection data I didn't know. I have recently been in contact with Linda Simon Chaney of Sacramento, CA as this is where Letha lived and died.

My mother was dawn bryer ,she lived in taunton /bridgewater and then moved for a short while to london .her sister moved to australia for a year -i have no idea whether there is a connection.
