My ancestor Alexander Bryson was born about 1805 in Hamilton, Lanarkshire Scotland. In 1825 at the age of 20 he joined the 73rd regiment of the British army in Edinburgh. His attestation papers say he was a weaver by trade. His regiment was posted to Canada about 1838 and he remained there until he died in 1846. I don't know anything about his parents or siblings.
