Ron Booe here.

Your name stayed the same because of when your family came to the new land. My line came in 1680s/1700s when king George was over the land. I have my line back to 1300s with help from German Gov help.

Just a note to help, the Bub name between 1500s and 1400s was BUOB. SO the name was BUOB before it was BUB.

THanks
Ron

Hi,

I haven't been able to go back too far with the Bub name. I am stuck when I try to figure out who the parents were of Conrad Bub(1802-1893).(or anything prior to that) My records show that he was married to Catherine Dauenheimer. Supposedly they came from Darmstadt, Germany. I don't know her birth/death dates either. Their children included Jacob, Peter, Elizabetha, Michael, Julia and Conrad. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
laurie

Hello, I am sister-in-law to Keith Norlander. I have put his name and e-mail address above, and am trying to help him locate ancestors of his family. His fathers name was Ralph Norlander, married to Bernice Ann Mathilda Bub. The father and mother of Bernice were Herman Bub and Lucille Goertz Bub. They were of NYC. Herman Bub was from Germany, I believe. Are these names in your geneology search? If so, could you contact Keith and let him know of information you may find? Thank you, Charlotte Caeton

We are trying to trace a Martha Bub that married Wilson E. Frantz around 1900. We have a watch that we thought belonged to her that has the initials MMB and is dated 6/29/1870.

Wanda, I too am searching info on the Bub family. My great grandfather was George Bub.I have only 1896(death) date. I know that he moved to Wadsworth, Ill from NY or PA. and he died in St. Joseph, MO. Know his son moved to CA, but little else. I happen to be in KS. Don't run into Bub name out here very often. The other name that appears is Erb. I have a picture of a house that was his parents--no idea where.

Bub Family Genealogy

Hi Susan, there are several George Bub's in my NY Bub's, not sure if appropriate. Please Email me at wsherwin@ns.gemlink.com and I will send you a listing of descendants of our immigrant Henricus. Most of the info I have in NY is from census, which I was able to connect by birth dates, etc. My ggrandmother with husband Anton Wertzberger and children moved from Schenectady area to Elgin, Kane Co., ILL and to Quincy ILL for awhile, then permanently to Wabaunsee Co, Kansas in 1857. Where in Kansas are you located?

Michael Bub (Bubb)

I am looking for looking for information on a Michael Bubb who came from Germany to Williamsport, PA area via Amsterdam and New York City around 1800. His name may have been Michael Bub when he came over. From what I have learned from another researcher he was supposed to have come over with his brother to be redemptioners at the Farm of Samuel Wallis in Muncy Twp, PA. When they landed in NYC his brother supposedly took off rather than work on the Wallis Farm. If this story sounds familiar to anyone let me know. I haven't been able to take my family back beyond Michael.

My Dad, Robert Bub, has traced the Bub family back to the 1600's in Germany. He said that Herman Bub was born in the States, not Germany. He also said that he knows Keith and Ralph...from childhood I suppose. Feel free to e-mail me and I can get you in touch with Dad and hopefully the information you need.

Bub

My grandmother's maiden name was Sophia Bub; she was born c. 1882 and died in 1917. She married George Figenshu and they lived in Philadelphia, Pa. Sophie had five sisters, but no brothers, so the name was not carried on in our branch. I believe her father's name was Wilhelm Bub; he was certainly of German descent and may have been born in Germany. Three of Sophie's sisters were married to men named Starner, McGuire, Senior. Does this information ring a bell with any other Bub's?
