Classification: Query
Surnames: BUCHHOLZ, BRUSSO, KRONTZ, SHAMBERGER, RATHBUN, BRUSEAU, BURSOIU, BRUSAU, BRUSO
I'm researching my family tree and one of the surnames that I cannot find much about is the BUCHHOLZ's.
Here is what I have, which I found in a book that my Grandmother made. Any other information would be helpful.
My 3rd Great Grand Parents:
Catherine Louisa KRONTZ (b. 1828 in Germany, d. 10 Mar 1911 in Elmira, NY) married Unknown BRUSSO.
They had at least one child, Stephen Christ BRUSSO (b. 25 Dec 1855 in West Prussia, m. 1882, d. 04 June 1927 in Elmira, NY). He married Anna Elizabeth BUCHHOLZ (b. 06 April 1860 in Germany, d. 30 Sep 1901 in Elmira, NY).
They had 9 children: Gustave W. (1883-1953), Louis S. (1884-1945), Frank H. (1886-1887), Mary A. (1887-1929), John J. (1889-1983), Charles A. (1893-1951), Edward (1894-1918), Winifred E. (1899-1967), and Berndard T. "George Shamberger" (name change ?, 1900-1990).
John Joseph BRUSSO (b. 08 Aug 1889 in Elmira, NY, m. 17 July 1913, d. 04 Oct 1983 in Sodus, NY) married Minerva Ione RATHBUN (b. 21 Aug 1894 in Portage, NY, d. 17 Sep 1970 in Webester, NY).
I have John and Minerva's children and their descendants, for the most part. I'm looking for further information on the BRUSSO who Catherine KRONTZ may have married and any of their ancestors and Anna BUCHHOLZ's ancestry. I have RATHBUN ancestry back to the 1600's.
Alternate possible spellings of BRUSSO before moving to NYS: Bruseau, Bursoiu, Brusau, and Bruso. I found these spellings on a paper in which someone was translating German into English.
Thank you!
