Hello,
My gr grandmother's father was a surveyor/businessman from Buckfield and Augusta, Maine who later moved to Lynchburg, Va where he opened up several candy/confectionary on Main St. His name was Mr. Charles C. Buck. He really loved and was devoted to his wife, Mrs. Mariah Harrison Buck and had 5 children with her... Rosa, (my gr grandma), Charles Jr,
Belle, Lugie, and Helen Buck...... All of whom were wonderful people who lived out their lives in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mts.....mainly in or around the Lynchburg, Va.
A very beautiful place!! I remember visiting my maternal grandfather Mr. Raymond Clayton (an admittedly tawdry individual) several times there in the 60's and the early 70's.....and remember being so struck with the natural beauty of the region.
OK.........if any of this sounds familiar to anyone drop me a line and reply sometime.... We probably might have so much to talk about...if there are any other Buck descendants out there besides me with roots in Va. and Maine...
Hope this piqued somebody's interest....
Hope to hear from and talk to anyone soon.
Tim
