Rifled Pockets Indicate Victim May Have Been Slain for Money
WEWOKA, Okla., June 26 -(Special)-
The badly decomposed body of Jimka Harjo, a Seminole Indian,
was found Friday afternoon by boy scouts about one mile
northwest of this city.
The dead man had been missing since last Saturday. The back
part of his skull had been crushed in with some blunt
instrument and his pockets were turned out indicating that
he had been robbed after being killed.
It is known that Harjo had some money. Thomas Jefferson and
Wesley Buck, two Indians, have been arrested on the charge
of the crime. It is said that Harjo was drinking heavily on
Saturday and was last seen in compnay of the two Indians
under arrest.
