Thanks for your message. I am related to Charity Buckalew who was born in Seneca, Ontario, NY on July 15 1797 and died February 10 1834 in Warren Co PA. She married John William Geer. Her parents were Isaac Buckalew (born about 1772) and Sarah (born about 1767). My suspicion is that Sarah was a Seneca Indian, not any of the Buckalews.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that my mother told me that the rumor was our ancestor was 'cut off' or 'disowned' by her family for marrying outside of the tribe. That being said I feel it will be harder to find evidence.

I know there is another Isaac Buckalew that shows up in search records but he was born in 1830 and served in the civil war so obviously not a match despite marrying a woman named Sarah.
