I see that your William and ours is the same. However, my research appears to be faulty tracing further back.
I built my tree with the supposition that this William was the son of August P. Buckholdt. I am now questioning my research for two reasons. First, several censi of William's grandchildren indicate that he was born in Germany. Second, it appears that A.P.'s son moved to Grove City after marrying Anna Van Eman of that town. APs William was born circa 1867 (same as ours) but in NY
Bill Bodkin wb-wm@comcast.net 412-343-1204

Hey Amanda,
I am Dona (Lizzy) Buckholt, I have been doing some research on my family history and I was woundering if Elizabeth Buckholt and Robert Lee (forget the last name sorry, I think it may be Patterson) are related. I looked at a family thing, I don't even know what it was, but that said Robert was her son, but that's my mom's faimily line from France, I'm pretty sure. I got really confused... So when you know anything tell me and I will do more research on them, I'm form Pittsburgh too. Okay, c'ya! Sorry for any spelling mistakes, I'm really bad at spelling and only a teenager if that helps my case any lol.. Bye!!

My family is the only Buckholdt/Buckholt/(Buckholtz current German branch spelling) in Charlerio, Pa. Here is the reply I sent to an inquiry about my Great Great Great Grand parents with the ancestory information. I know we came here in the 1600 and 1700 hundreds, have ship names and parts of the family tree, but we are just putting this together. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Since there is only our family of Buckholt's/Buckholdt's in Charleroi you may have information on why my great grandparents moved there, already established aunt/uncles/cousins?

Great Greatfather Charles Buckholdt was born to Great Great Granparents William and Elizabeth. Great Grandfather Charles moved to Charleroi, Pa. after his marriage to Great Grandmother Christine Allen in Ohio. Great Grandmother Christine was born here, but grew up outside of Glasgow, Scotland after her parents James and Elizabeth let her return to live with her Grandmother. Their children, Grandfather William who married Grace Elizabeth Goshorn, Aunt Elizabeth who married Edward Dopler and Uncle James who married Aunt Pauline lived in Charleroi, married, had children, who had children, all of whom are spread around the world. The name change came about during WWII for this branch of the family (military suggestion). My mother is Elizabeth Buckholt Berton. Her brother William Charles spent years in Germany and met Buckholtz first cousins there, then all were relocated to White Sands, and Sandia. My cousin William Buckholt worked there until his early death. If you have any information on other areas of the family tree I would love to hear about it. We are trying to piece together as much of it as we can.
Thanks, Robert...
Linda, I spoke to my Bookholt friends about your query. Don's father was William who was John's brother. John last lived in Passaic, NJ. His two sons John and Robert lived in Oakland and Waldwick NJ. He didn't remember which one lived where. The one who lived in Waldwick died. The name spelling was Boekholt or Bookholt. I believe Boekholt was the old Dutch spelling. If you would like me to ask him any other questions contact me directly. Don wanted to know how you are related to this family.

Wonderful! This sounds to be exactly the family in the old photograph I have. Now I wonder about their connection to the Woodward clan. Do you know anything about the parents? Would you like a copy of the photo?

Bill Woodward

Information on Frank Wallace Buckholt

Frank Wallace Buckholt was my father's great grandfather (paternal). According to our family tree Frank Wallace Buckholt was born somewhere in Germany on October 28, 1844 and died March 2, 1929 and was buried in Brashear, Texas. His wife Nancy Ellen Skaggs was born March 4, 1851 (not sure where) and died on June 28, 1924 and was buried in Brashear, Texas. Our family tree does not have any information on Frank Wallace Buckholt or Nancy Ellen Skaggs family, if you can provide any information it would be greatly appreciated.

I hope this information helps.

Buckholt

There may be a connection. Can you tell me which county they came from. Another research found a William and Julia Buckholt in Edwards County in 1900. At the time their children were Bessie, Eunice, Gladys and Eva. The dates and the place look right, and they obviously could have had more children. Please tell me more.

Buckholt in TX c. 1900

I have a family picture of Woodwards taken around 1902 in Camp Wood, Texas. Among the Woodwards is a Buckholt family. The father and mother are not given first names, but appear to be in their 30's or 40's. Three of the four children are named: Bessie, Unice, and Gladys. Bessie and Unice appear to be 10-12, and Gladys is 3-4. A fourth child is maybe 4-6. Any information would be welcomed, and I would be happy to share the photo.
