I am looking for info on the son of Lois Emerson Bucklew (various spellings). Lois was the daughter of William Hall Buckelew and Martha Jane McBride. Lois married James A. Williams, D.D.

Lois & James had 2 sons -
1) Elmer Clayton Williams
b.April 26, 1863 d.February 28, 1926
Elmer married Estella Elizabeth Allison March 18, 1886

2) Melvin Burke "Burklew" Williams
b. May 30, 1865

Melvin disappears after the 1880 census. Family folklore says that he changed his name/went on the stage/became an entertainer.

Does anyone know what happened to Melvin?
