My great-great-great grandfather is Moses Bucknam, he was born in Maine, probably in the Norridgewock area on 11/24/1810. He fathered two children with Abigail Snell (possibly more) Alden and George and went west in the early 1850's. Alden (my great-great grandfather) served with a Michigan company in the Civil war, before returning to Maine, and Moses and George served with companies in Wisconsin. There's a slight possibility that Moses had a son also named Moses, but this is unclear--it may have been Moses, Jr who was in the civil war and not my great-great-great grandfather. Moses died in Waupaca, Wisconsin on 5/16/1894. I'm pretty sure that my Great Great Great Granddad Moses came with his parents up from the Malden/Medford area of Massachusetts. To add to the confusion it's quite possible that Moses's father was also named Moses. Can anyone help at all? Moses sure is being a stubborn one! Thank you.
