Guess it couldn't have been birth 1805 if he married 1815.
I have a Donald 1786 b Wick and many more dates. Do you know your Donald's parents names.
I am searching family related to John Budge and Sutherland Cooper m 1798 Canisbay. Had at least 6 children William Donald John Charlotte Janet and Margaret b 1798 - 1815. Possible parents for John Sr above are Donald Budge and Christian Barnie (Wick) or John Budge and Margaret Brock (Stromness). Still searching

6 John & Jane Calder + 4 children, Donald, Catherine, John
and Elizabeth Harper.
there was another John Budge from Orkney born in the same year and married a Jane Calder in the same year and they had children John jr and Wilimina etc... but are not part of this family.

Hello Iain, it's a pleasure to meet you! It appears as though we are definitely cousins! What a way to start a day!

Since posting the original message back in Dec of 2002, I've been able to track down more info on Donald and his children.

I've learned that Donald and Elizabeth have 7 children. A Will from scottishdocuments.com adds a Margaret to the family.

Do you have Donald's parents' names? If not, they're Donald Budge and Christian/Christina Douglas. I have more info dating back further, but it's unproven at this time. I'd like to talk to you more about this in depth. Please contact me offlist as soon as possible! (budge.genealogy@myrealbox.com)
