I have no idea if you are still interested after all of these years, but there is a great deal of information on this family in my Ancestry.com tree, James Barry (Pittsburgh) Family Tree. Briefly:

Otto b. 1872 Alsace-Lorraine. Emigrated to America through Castle Island, NY, 1893. Mugged on arrival and made his way by playing piano in a bar. Married Frederika Muther in 1898. Was foreman of a silk mill and, after a religious conversion, head of a Christian orphanage. In addition to son Frederick, they also had a daughter, Cora Bertha, who married Joseph A. McCarthy, my former wife's grandfather.
